Certified Nutrition Counsellor

This comprehensive 336 hour (14 units) certificate program is designed to provide you with a high level of knowledge to practice as a ‘Nutrition Counsellor’. The course will present a thorough understanding of the human body and the bio-energetic/bio-chemical bases of normal nutrition, within a wholistic perspective. It will also provide a platform of how to use nutritional therapies in support of other health disciplines and on an individual therapy basis. This knowledge supports the client's overall health care program, as they work towards restoring and maintaining health balance. (A unit represents 24 hours of training)

Nutrition Specialization

In Core Program
Nutrition 1: All the essential vitamins, minerals, fats, amino acids & many semi-nutrients will be discussed. (24 hrs) Available by Home Study
Nutrition 2: A dynamic & positive approach to daily food requirements. The importance of correct body pH balance in maintaining health is emphasized. (24 hrs)
Added Specialization
Nutrition 3: An in-depth study of metabolism, digestion, chemistry of the body & the theory of ionization is presented. Detoxification & cleansing techniques are examined. (24 hrs) Pre-requisites: Nutrition 1 (Available by Home Study ) & 2
Nutrition 4: Students will investigate the various causes of disease in the general areas of bio-energetic toxicology, psychology, microbial & genetic. This course will provide a state of the art study of the use of nutrients in the prevention of disease, maintenance of health & the promotion of longevity. (24 hrs) Pre-requisites: Nutrition 3 & Anatomy/Physiology 2
Nutrition 5*: This level of study provides clinical instruction on the use of instrumentation with reference to the Theory of Ionization. Clinical profiles and recommendations are presented and discussed applying the knowledge acquired in the two previous levels. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Nutrition 4
Nutrition 6*: Learn how to thoroughly assess clients for nutrient deficiencies. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Nutrition 3
Pharmacology: Discuss the importance of accurate history taking & contraindications related to pharmaceutical & alternative medications. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: A/P 4
Iridology 1: An introduction to Iridology, its history, foundation, and use as an analytical tool. The student will learn how to recognize basic Iridology signs and understand their meanings. (24 hrs)
Clinical/Community/Cases: Practical application of theory. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: See Administration

* Students may elect to complete either Nutrition 5 or Nutrition 6.
