This comprehensive 336 hour (14 units) certificate program is designed to provide you with a high level of knowledge to practice as a ‘Certified Herbalist’. The course will present a thorough understanding of the human body and the inter-action of the practice of Herbalism on the individual, within a wholistic perspective. (A unit represents 24 hours of training)
It will also provide a platform of how to use herbal preparations in support of other health disciplines and on an individual therapy basis. This knowledge supports the client’s overall health care program, as they work towards restoring and maintaining health balance.

Herbal Therapeutics 1: This course takes you from seed to seed. Learn how to cultivate medicinal plants for peak nutrition and optimal constituents. Explore the ethics and practices of wildcrafting.  Learn proper post-harvest handling and seed saving techniques. Gain an understanding of basic botany. (24 hrs)
Herbal Therapeutics 2: An introduction to herbal preparations. Learn the basics of how to work with various solvents to extract the healing properties of plants for internal and external uses. Course will cover herbal infusions and decoctions, infused vinegars & honeys, herbal oils & salves, tinctures and more. (24 hrs) 
Western Herbal Energetics: Deepen your understanding of plant medicine beyond “What is this plant good for?”  Herbs shine when we move past treating the symptoms of disease and instead treat the whole person by matching them with the right plant.  When we use taste, herbal actions and the energetic spectrum, we have access to a  much more nuanced and effective approach to herbalism.  These practical, sensory-based, organoleptic classes will transform the way you use herbs! (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: Materia Medica 1
Materia Medica 1: An in depth exploration of a broad diversity of medicinal and healing plants used by Western herbalists*, this course will provide a basic understanding of what a Materia Medica is and how to use it to deepen your herbal practice. You will gain knowledge of the specifics of many common herbs including indications and contraindications, energetic applications, the most recent scientific research, modern usage and dosage information.  *Emphasis on local, bio-regional plants.(24 hrs).
Materia Medica 2: A continuation of Materia Medica I, this course further explores the healing plants of Western herbalism while continuing to build your own Materia Medica. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: MM 1
The following requirements must also be met:
Pharmacology: Discuss the importance of accurate history taking & contraindications related to pharmaceutical & alternative medications. (24 hrs) Pre-requisite: A/P 4
Clinical/Community/Cases: Practical application of theory. (24 hrs)  Pre-requisite: See Administration
